Volunteering at Pathways Health Centre for Children

“Volunteering – a great way to grow!” We welcome high school teens and adults Contact our Supervisor of Volunteer Services at 542-3471, ext. 278 to find out about volunteer opportunities and to schedule an initial interview. Two types of volunteer opportunities are offered, depending on experience, interest and availability of programs:
  1. Hands-on experience with children/youth e.g. aquatic sessions, C.A.C.H.É. Child Care Service, therapeutic recreation, etc. Support tasks in-Centre e.g. reception, filing, mailings. *The volunteer usually comes at a set time every week. Potential volunteers must go through a multi-step screening process, which includes: *interview *two-step mantoux skin test for tuberculosis *references
  2. Special Events (Fund Raising/Community Relations) e.g. BBQ’s and dinners, Displays, Ticket Sales *The volunteer is called, as needed.
Potential volunteers go through an abbreviated screening process. Why do people volunteer?

  • to feel appreciated/needed
  • to utilize/develop skills
  • to give back to the community
  • to enhance resume for school/job
  • to make a difference
